Toward a New Professional Role: The Immersive Storytelling Designer

On June 25th, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the Calenzano Design Campus will host a workshop dedicated to an emerging professional role, central to the activities of the Erasmus+ INSIDE-ACT project: the Immersive Storytelling Designer, a profile dedicated to innovation and the communication of corporate values through immersive and artistic languages.

The event is divided into two parts.

Part 1 – Room 10, Design Campus Calenzano

The proceedings will open with two presentations, designed to frame the context in which this new professional figure operates.

The Ermanno Casoli Foundation will bring its experience in promoting dialogue between contemporary art and corporate organizations. The Foundation's work is based on the belief that art, as an activator of thought, contributes to breaking down traditional paradigms of shared knowledge, opening up unexpected possibilities and triggering original innovation processes that stimulate creativity and strengthen teamwork.

This will be followed by a presentation by Stefano Fake, founder of The Fake Factory, an award-winning Florentine studio specializing in video art, immersive art, video mapping, and video design. Founded in Florence in 2001, The Fake Factory is now a global network of 500 new media artists, architects, designers, engineers, and philosophers—an example of how the hybridization of artistic and technological expertise can produce internationally recognized excellence.

Part 2 – Room 11, Co-Design Workshop

The next two hours will be dedicated to a co-design workshop on the multidisciplinary skills of the Immersive Storytelling Designer. Participants, selected from manufacturing, social, communications, and technology companies, as well as video makers, cultural associations, theater performers, artists, and designers, will work in multidisciplinary groups to explore aspects of the ISD profile that can be applied to their daily work.

The day will conclude with a convivial aperitif accompanied by the screening of the film The Game, by Danilo Correale, created for the 14th edition of the Ermanno Casoli Prize (2014) and curated by Marcello Smarrelli. The film recounts the experience of three Valdelsa companies involved in an artistic performance a few years ago.

The initiative is part of the Erasmus+ INSIDE-ACT project, funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ – Alliances for Innovation program.
